The three layer design consists of:
- Embedded Rubber Chip Wear layer: EPDM rubber chips are broadcast into massive flow coat yielding a thick, durable top layer.
- Middle Shock Absorbing layer: SBR rubber chips are broadcast into a massive flow-applied micro-foam coat.
- Base layer: SBR rubber chips are broadcast into a massive flow coat yielding a thick, strong foundation layer that is uniform in thickness and much stronger than a paved mat. The Rekortan® system meets the IAAF performance standards and has been certified again for use in international competition.
